See his side
Unless he's a total coward who can't break up with you in front of your face, chances are that he wants space for a good reason. Perhaps he's been feeling too pressured by you. Is he unable to hang out with his friends or even his family because the two of you spend every waking moment together? Do you insist on having a say on every decision he makes, right down to the color of tie he wears? Are you always making him participate in couples' activities that he really doesn't want to do? This request from him actually gives you a chance to take a look at your own actions.
Get busy and let him miss you
The best thing for you to do is to also enjoy some space on your own. Go on a road trip with your friends; hit the spas and salons; put in a some extra time at work. Saying that he wants space is actually an opportunity for you to let him miss you and to see how much he truly loves you.
